SDAC is seeking a skilled Laborer with a background in commercial and residential remodeling. This role is essential to our project success, providing the foundational support needed for high-quality renovations, site preparation, and structural improvements across various facility types.
Responsibilities- Site Preparation:
Perform demolition, debris removal, and site clearing to prepare residential and commercial spaces for remodeling phases. - Remodeling Support:
Assist skilled trades (carpentry, electrical, plumbing) with tasks related to interior and exterior renovations, including framing, drywall installation, and finish work. - Load, unload, and organize construction materials, tools, and equipment; ensure all supplies are handled safely and efficiently.
- Safely operate a variety of hand and power tools, including jackhammers, drills, saws, and grinders, maintaining them in good working order.
- Perform basic repairs and maintenance tasks as assigned, ensuring all work meets SDAC and client quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard‑free job site at all times; strictly adhere to OSHA safety regulations and company safety protocols.
- Work effectively with Project Managers and Lead Technicians to ensure project timelines and milestones are met.
- Experience:
Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in construction labor, specifically within remodeling (both commercial and residential sectors). - Technical
Skills:
Basic knowledge of construction methods, materials, and tools; ability to read basic blueprints or follow technical instructions. - Physical Requirements:
Must be in good physical condition with the ability to lift up to 75 lbs, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions and confined spaces. - Reliability:
Proven track record of punctuality, strong work ethic, and a "can-do" attitude. - Communication:
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions clearly in English. - Compliance:
Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening; possess a valid driver’s license.
- Experience with specific remodeling tasks such as tile work, painting, or light framing.
- Familiarity with safety protocols for working in occupied residential or commercial environments.
