Senior Engineering Manager
Location: Seymour, CT
Job Type: Full-Time, On-Site
Role Overview:
As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will oversee engineering projects and teams, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery.
Your role will involve managing technical processes, supporting new product introductions, and collaborating with various departments to maintain and enhance manufacturing capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communication and Professionalism:
- Communicate effectively and professionally with team members, customers, and stakeholders.
- Maintain organization and professionalism, adapting to various instructions and tasks.
- Technical Management:
- Oversee document control and project management, ensuring timely completion.
- Manage SMT equipment, including programming and troubleshooting.
- Interpret x-ray images and manage reflow profiles.
- Utilize AutoCAD or Solid Works for design and debugging.
- Conduct defect review and root cause analysis.
- Technology Development:
- Assist in researching industry trends and establishing technology roadmaps.
- Monitor market requirements and technological impacts.
- Sales & Customer Support:
- Partner with the sales team and provide technical support during the prospecting process.
- Contribute to quoting processes and manage client relationships.
- New Product Introduction:
- Support documentation control and new product processes.
- Ensure quality, reliability, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Operations Support:
- Assist with new equipment selection and validation planning.
- Provide technical support to manufacturing engineering teams.
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years in electronic manufacturing services, with at least 5 years in new product introductions.
- Extensive knowledge of SMT manufacturing and PCBA processes.
- Client/customer facing experience required.
- Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project).
- Experience with PCB design and CAD tools (Valor, Cadence, Cam 350, AutoCAD, Solid Works).
- Lean/Six Sigma experience;
Black Belt certification preferred. - Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Experience in regulated industries (aerospace, defense, medical device) preferred.
- Ability to read and write in English, perform basic mathematical operations, and understand instructions.
- Clean, quiet, and well-lit workspace with necessary Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E) as required.
