Job OverviewSenior Engineer, Global NPI, provides technical leadership and execution oversight for the development, industrialization, and launch of next‑generation fiber optic products. This role drives end‑to‑end manufacturing readiness by integrating product design, optical test processes, automation, and global production strategies. Responsible for supporting successful product industrialization and transition to production by driving process consistency, yield performance, and manufacturing readiness across sites. Contributes to cross‑functional alignment and ensures reliable execution of NPI objectives.
The position leads cross‑functional efforts to ensure scalable, high‑yield, and cost‑efficient manufacturing solutions, while supporting rapid deployment across multiple production sites. The Senior Engineer plays a critical role in advancing test capabilities, improving process robustness, and accelerating new product introductions aligned with business growth objectives.
Duties & Responsibilities- Lead all phases of New Product Introduction (NPI), from concept through production launch.
- Define manufacturing strategies to ensure scalability, yield, and cost targets are achieved.
- Ensure alignment between product design and manufacturing through advanced DFM guidance.
- Drive technical leadership in optical test, interferometry, and continuity verification; develop and implement advanced processes leveraging emerging technologies and external partners, ensuring scalable deployment across sites without compromising quality or customer performance.
- Lead functional business analysis for Fiber Barcode (FBC) systems; define software requirements and strategy to ensure product compliance, drive development activities, and validate system performance for robustness and reliability.
- Provide direction across all NPI phases, ensuring execution aligns with PDP requirements, procedures, and regulatory standards; coordinate with R&D and PLM on schedules, resources, and capital planning while driving process capability, yield, and cost performance through PFMEA, VSM, and throughput analysis.
- Specify and lead implementation of automation equipment for fiber manufacturing systems, including concept, design, build coordination (internal and external), validation, and operator readiness; ensure successful deployment and transfer across sites while maintaining quality and customer requirements.
- Lead cross‑functional teams including Manufacturing Engineers, Technicians, and Automation groups to achieve project goals; define and execute project plans, schedules, and budgets to ensure delivery against performance and cost targets.
- Bachelor’s Degree in related curriculum such as Engineering with 8-10 years of work experience in a relevant or related field.
- Proficient in FBC, SAP, Lean Six Sigma, SharePoint.
