With offices in Los Angeles and Shanghai, American Education Advisors (AEA) is recruiting English Literature & Composition Teachers for our partner schools in Shanghai and across 40+ cities in China. Classes are conducted in English and start August/September 2020. APPLY TODAY!


- Teaching various topics in literature and composition, including: evaluating works of fiction, poetry, and drama from various periods and cultures; writing analytical and persuasive essays; drawing conclusions and interpretations from reading a text closely; identifying techniques used by authors and their effects
- Utilizing curriculum that includes lectures, reading assignments and group discussions
- Initiating, facilitating, and moderating classroom discussions
- Investing in students’ well-being, health, and safety, physically, socially, and emotionally
- Communicating effectively with students, parents, school administrators and other staff
- Preparing and grading educational materials provided to students
- Testing student levels with appropriate assessments and setting progress goals
- Evaluating and grading student classwork, assignments, and papers
- Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours   


- $50,000 – $60,000 per year (i.e., 28,000 – 35,000 Chinese Yuan per month)

Position Requirements
Bachelor,   1 to 2 Years work experience
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- 2 years of full-time teaching experience
- Experience teaching at least one of the following is preferred, but NOT always required: International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP), Advanced Placement (AP), Advanced Level (A Level), IGCSE
- Teachers over 60 are not eligible due to China's work visa policies
- Ability to speak Chinese is NOT required
