Are you a creative and enthusiastic Design and Technology Teacher eager to inspire the next generation of designers, engineers, and innovators?
GSL Education are seeking dedicated and knowledgeable Design and Technology Teachers to work in schools across Sheffield.
As a Design and Technology Teacher, you will have the opportunity to bring practical learning to life, encouraging students to develop their creativity, technical knowledge, and problem-solving abilities. This role is ideal for an educator who is passionate about delivering engaging lessons that help students gain valuable skills for both further education and future careers.
Design and Technology Teacher Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging Design and Technology lessons in line with the national curriculum
Teach across relevant Key Stages, supporting students in developing practical and theoretical knowledge
Encourage creativity, innovation, and independent thinking through project-based learning
Assess, monitor, and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback
Differentiate learning to meet the needs of students with varying abilities
Maintain a safe and productive learning environment within workshops and classrooms
Promote positive behaviour and strong student engagement
Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
Requirements of a Design and Technology Teacher:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
A degree in Design and Technology or a related subject
Previous experience teaching Design and Technology in a school setting is desirable
Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
Excellent communication and organisational abilities
A creative and proactive approach to teaching and learning
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
