General Machinist
Sheffield
£37,000 - £40,000 + Overtime
Permanent - Heavy Engineering Workshop
We’re recruiting on behalf of an established heavy engineering business in Sheffield specialising in the repair and refurbishment of large industrial motors, pumps and rotating equipment.
This is a workshop-based role working on manual machinery, not production CNC.
The Role:
* Operating manual centre lathes, horizontal borers and milling machines
* Machining large shafts and rotating components
* Working from engineering drawings to tight tolerances
* Refurbishment and repair work
* Using overhead cranes to handle heavy components
What We’re Looking For:
* Experienced manual machinist (not CNC production)
* Background in heavy engineering, steel, pumps or rotating equipment
* Confident working on large components
* Able to read drawings and use precision measuring equipment
* Reliable, hands-on and safety conscious
Overtime available.
Stable, long-term position within a well-established engineering environment.
