Job Overview
The Test Technician V is responsible for leading and executing advanced testing processes to ensure the quality and performance of electrical, electronic, and mechanical parts and materials. This position supports engineering activities by participating in the design, test development, check‑out, modification, fabrication, and the assembly of new electrical and mechanical systems. The Test Technician V will identify improvements to our processes and procedures and ensure that testing and quality is a core value that comes first for our team.

Every day at Hubbell is different and you’ll contribute in many ways. On any given day, you’ll make a difference by:
Contributing to electronic circuit designs and analysis, in support of project engineers.
Maintaining equipment and laboratory; calibrating instruments and stocking laboratory with proper and sufficient operating material. Recommending new or replacement test equipment.
Evaluating materials and components to specification.
Performing environmental tests to check out prototypes, components, etc.
Aiding engineers in their role of demonstrating that products are reliable and of the required quality level, i.e., the design and build of test circuits and apparatus (electrical, electronic or mechanical).
Aiding engineers in their supportive role to other departments to help maintain the product in production.
Training lab technicians in the proper use of equipment, safety procedures, product testing and documentation.
Researching UL/CSA standards for construction/performance requirements; preparing test specimens and apparatus for UL/CSA testing; assisting certification agencies in the inspection and testing of product.
What Will Help You Thrive in This Role?Associate’s Degree in electrical engineering or equivalent (required)
Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical/electronic testing and techniques of design (required)
Strong attention to detail, problem solving, time management, and strong organizational and multi‑tasking skills (required)
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Strong decision‑making and leadership skills
Knowledge of the principles of theory and general electronic component functions preferred
Good oral and written communication skills
Ability to work from procedures and drawings with minimal guidance
Experience executing tests and documenting test results
