Job Description
As a Data Engineer III, you will play a critical technical leadership role within Global Excel’s Data & Analytics ecosystem. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and evolving scalable, secure, and performant data architecture that supports advanced analytics and AI capabilities. Your expertise in modern data platforms, strong data modeling skills, and strategic vision will help shape the technical roadmap and architecture direction.
What does your typical day look like?- Lead the design, development, and optimization of scalable data pipelines, warehouses, and lakes leveraging Snowflake, DBT, and Azure Data Services.
- Architect reusable data models that align with business requirements and enterprise data standards.
- Drive the technical roadmap for data platforms, evaluating emerging tools and frameworks to enhance capabilities and efficiency.
- Define and enforce comprehensive data governance policies including data quality, lineage, security, access controls, and retention.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and continuously improve data infrastructure performance and cost efficiency.
- Lead initiatives to automate data validation and quality monitoring across the data ecosystem.
- Document architectural designs, standards, and technical guidelines to ensure knowledge sharing and sustainment.
- 10+ years of professional experience in data engineering or related disciplines.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
- Extensive experience designing cloud-based, scalable data architectures.
- Familiarity with relational and No
SQL databases, API integrations, and data security best practices. - Advanced expertise in data platforms (Snowflake, Azure Data Services) and tooling (DBT, Azure Data Factory).
- Strong proficiency in SQL, data modeling, ETL design, and pipeline automation.
- Deep understanding of data governance, quality frameworks, and security compliance standards.
- Proven leadership in technical design, mentorship, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Ability to distill complex technical concepts for diverse audiences and drive consensus.
