The contracted on‑site Field Service Engineering role provides early stage Manipulation workcells with the onsite engineering resources required for the on‑going development of the early phase, i.e., Alpha and Beta, work cells. These are skilled engineers who have been trained to run the systems with minimal safety systems deployed.

• Facilitates the daily operation of the Alpha/ Beta level work cells
• Onsite software, controls, and hardware support and coordination for product tests
• Support setup and configuration of software and hardware systems
• Collaborates with and supports remote hardware and software development teams, providing local coordination of activities as needed
• Assist with identification of hardware issues and software bugs; perform and/or support root cause analysis, and installation of corrective actions
• Perform planned daily, weekly, and monthly hardware preventative maintenance activities
• Complete unplanned maintenance/ repairs as needed following prescribed instructions
• Install hardware changes
• Provide documentation and updates as directed, including collecting data, data analysis, and creating reports
• Coordination, collaboration, and relationship development with onsite parties to meet priorities and deadlines

• Typically a mechanical or electrical engineer (who learns towards hardware) familiar with robotic work cells and a manufacturing or fulfillment center environment
• Strong skills with hardware and pneumatic systems used to drive a robotic work cell
• Responsible for everyday operation and maintenance
• Works with remote hardware and software teams to implement changes
• Facilitates running tests that capture data and facilitates continuous improvement
• Strong at determining root causes, especially mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical problems

• Typically a mechanical or electrical engineer technician familiar with robotic work cells and a manufacturing or fulfillment center environment
• Brings practical, hands‑on skills to the support team
• Experienced in working on hardware and software issues in robotic and automated equipment
• Usually employed once the workcell safety system has matured to a phase where less engineering skills are needed
