Position SummaryFisica Space Vector seeks an experienced, highly motivated, and strategically minded Principal, Business Development to lead growth initiatives, customer acquisition, and market expansion within the Aerospace, Defense, and National Security sectors. The role involves high‑level strategic planning as well as hands‑on execution, building senior‑level relationships, qualifying multi‑million dollar pipelines, leading major capture and proposal efforts, and shaping outbound marketing and brand presence.
Responsibilities- Strategic Growth & Pipeline Management
- Identify, qualify, and mature a robust, multi‑year pipeline of opportunities across U.S. Government agencies and Tier 1 defense prime contractors.
- Lead high‑priority capture efforts, establishing win themes, competitive intelligence, price‑to‑win strategies, and executing teaming agreements.
- Manage and facilitate weekly business‑development reviews, briefing executive leadership on pipeline health, proposal status, capture strategies, and resource requirements.
- Proposal Leadership & Execution
- Oversee the end‑to‑end proposal lifecycle, guide bid/no‑bid decisions, establish schedules, and ensure milestones are met.
- Contribute to proposal writing, technical integration, and pricing strategy; lead Color Team reviews (Red/Gold) to ensure high‑scoring, compliant, and compelling submissions.
- Manage, support, and evaluate commissioned sales representatives and external consultants to align with growth objectives.
- Customer & Industry Engagement
- Develop and maintain trusted‑advisor relationships with key government program offices, research laboratories (e.g., AFRL, NRL, DARPA, RCC, major test ranges), and prime‑contractor decision makers.
- Represent Fisica Applied Technologies at major industry conferences, symposiums, and customer‑facing briefings to position the company as a premier technology solution provider.
- Marketing & Strategic Communications
- Support corporate marketing initiatives, including website modernization, regular content generation, and social‑media presence, ensuring messaging aligns with ITAR, EAR, and CUI guidelines.
- Direct the creation of high‑impact marketing collateral, white papers, and capability briefings tailored to specific customer domains.
Skills & Qualifications
- Federal Contracting Expertise – Deep knowledge of U.S. Government acquisition processes, FAR/DFARS, and structured capture methodologies (e.g., Shipley).
- Contractual & Business Acumen – Understanding of CPFF, FFP, T&M contract types and experience negotiating teaming agreements, NDAs, and subcontracts.
- Communication Excellence – Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills; ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear value propositions for executive and customer audiences.
- Tools & Systems – Proficiency in CRM platforms, capture management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
- Travel – Must be able to travel up to 50% of the year.
- Education – Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Business Administration, or a related technical/business discipline is required. An MBA or advanced technical degree is highly desirable.
