** What can you expect?
** As the Driller Assistant, you will work onsite in Alaska and will support the drilling team on a seasonal mineral exploration project by assisting in the operation, maintenance, and safety of drilling equipment. Working closely with the Driller, you will help to ensure efficient drilling operations, contribute to the setup and breakdown of drilling rigs, and monitor the drilling process to ensure safety protocols are followed.

You will also be responsible for maintaining equipment, preparing materials, and providing semi-skilled labor-intensive support during drilling activities, ensuring a smooth and effective workflow on site. This is a temporary position with an anticipated duration of approximately 5 to 8 months.
** How will you do it?
*** Assist in mobilizing and setting up drilling sites efficiently and safely.
* Transport necessary supplies and equipment to and from the drill site.
* Participate in the preparation and maintenance of safety equipment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards.
* Mix and prepare drilling fluids as required for operations.

* Support the Driller throughout the drilling process, working shifts of 12-14 hours per day, including in remote locations and challenging weather conditions.
* Work with the Driller to assess ground conditions and recommend adjustments to drilling methods or parameters.
* Communicate clearly and effectively with the drilling crew and other site personnel to ensure smooth operations.
* Maintain and ensure the longevity of all site equipment and tools, ensuring optimal performance.
* Organize core sample bags in sequential order according to specified footage.
* Provide training and mentorship to new Driller Assistants as needed.
* Ensure compliance with all company policies and safety protocols while working on-site.
* Perform physically demanding work for extended hours in various conditions to complete drilling projects.
* Follow the Driller’s instructions while taking initiative to remain productive and proactive on the job site.
* Collaborate effectively with team members, maintaining a respectful and supportive attitude.
* Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

** Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
*** Basic understanding of drilling techniques, procedures, and equipment used in the drilling process.
