On-Call CDL Driver, Independent Contractor

Since our founding in 2018, we have built our reputation on delivering high-quality new fire apparatus and equipment solutions tailored to the evolving demands of the Fire and EMS industry. As the authorized representative for HME Ahrens-Fox and Spencer Manufacturing, we work closely with departments across Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts to design, build, and deliver apparatus that meet the specific operational needs of each community.

To support this mission, we are seeking an on-call CDL driver to play a key role in the customer experience. This position is responsible for transporting fire apparatus to and from customer locations, whether delivering demonstration units that showcase the fit, finish, and capabilities of the brands we represent, or ensuring the safe, professional delivery of a department’s new truck into service.

• Safely operate and transport fire apparatus (pumpers, tankers, rescues, etc.) to and from customer locations, dealer facilities, and events
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure each vehicle is roadworthy, clean, and presentation-ready
• Deliver demonstration units to departments, ensuring the apparatus is staged to highlight fit, finish, and key features
• Support sales staff during demo visits by positioning apparatus appropriately
• Transport newly purchased apparatus from manufacturer or service locations to customer departments for final delivery
• Ensure the apparatus arrives clean and fueled upon final delivery
• Maintain accurate trip logs, mileage records, and required DOT compliance documentation
• Communicate clearly with internal staff and customer representatives regarding delivery status and timing
• Identify and report any mechanical or cosmetic issues observed during transport
• Ensure compliance with all CDL regulations, safety standards, and company policies
• Represent the company professionally at all times, recognizing that deliveries and demos are high-visibility customer interactions

• Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
• Ability to work for up to 10-hours in a single day

• Current or past firefighter
• Interest in fire apparatus sales

• Company-provided fire truck
• 4-hour minimum shift pay guarantee
