About the Position
We’re looking for someone who can put their innovation to work to advance our success—and theirs. As a Fabrication Operator, you will perform fabrication operations and processes using a wide range of hand and power tools, set up production materials and tooling, and maintain proper dimensions according to print specifications.
Responsibilities- Diagnose and solve root problems to ensure production flow is maintained.
- Perform rotational assignments as needed, demonstrating flexibility.
- Adhere to department 5S standards and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Maintain equipment and materials necessary to complete the operation.
- Meet established safety, quality, and performance standards to ensure production schedules are met.
- Record accurate information on Manufacturing Orders and perform necessary transactions to maintain accurate records and inventory balances.
- Comply with all applicable safety procedures, quality specifications, and 5S Standards.
- Report adverse conditions, non‑conforming products/procedures, and 5S violations to the department leader according to escalation procedures.
- Set up and operate heavy‑duty power equipment to bend, form, stretch and straighten a variety of products/materials such as plates, extrusions, structural shapes, etc. as specified by blueprints, layout, and templates.
- Assist with set‑up of dies, movable and stationary equipment, forming blocks, adjusting stroke and feed as needed.
- Operate automatic or multi‑slide equipment to perform simultaneous processes for a variety of products.
- Understand and work from drawings, order‑route sheets, schedules, written and verbal instructions.
- Use micrometers, calipers, scales, tape measures, calculators and fixed gauges to check work in process and ensure adherence to specifications.
- Move materials using pallet jack, lift truck or crane (if PIT qualified).
- Install and check safety devices as needed for specific jobs.
- Report faulty equipment, defective material and unusual conditions to supervisor or other appropriate resources.
- Observe and adhere to all prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain a neat and orderly work area.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or directed, which may require more than the normal shift hours or work week to meet company needs.
- Experience in assembling mechanical parts into a finished product.
- Proven strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills with the ability to make informed decisions.
- Good organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, multi‑tasking environment and meet operational deadlines.
- Self‑motivated, safety and quality conscious, and able to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Experience following work instructions or reading blueprints.
- Experience using hand and power tools.
- Experience working in a light industrial facility preferred.
- Heavy lifting required (up to 50lbs).
- Lift truck operator experience recommended.
