Job Summary
Symphony Healthcare Services has 10 permanent GP sessions vacant at Crewkerne Health Centre in Crewkerne, Somerset, which is part of the Symphony South Primary Care Network.
Crewkerne Health Centre has operated from Middle Path since 1973. The Health Centre joined Symphony Healthcare Services in 2017 and subsequently merged with the West One Surgery in 2018 to serve the population of Crewkerne, caring for nearly 13,000 patients in the local community. Joining together to form one multidisciplinary team enables the provision of a wide range of healthcare services, including minor surgery, across both locations within five minutes walk.
Registered patients can access appointments at both sites depending on their medical needs.
With competitive pay, the successful GP applicant will work with an experienced multidisciplinary team. Working as an autonomous practitioner you will be responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the GMS contract and carrying out all duties reasonably expected of an NHS general practitioner using the GMC & RCGP standards.
ResponsibilitiesAs a Symphony GP you will undertake all the clinical duties associated with a GP working in primary care. Your role includes:
- Providing general medical care to patients in accordance with NHS and GMS standards.
- Participating in quality improvement projects, QOF, and training programmes.
- Working flexibly across two sites, supporting QI, training, and research initiatives for variety and career development.
- Managing your workload within the clearly defined job plan for salaried GPs or the responsibilities for employed/consultant posts, as appropriate.
Essential:
- Named in the General Practitioner Register under article 10 of the General and Specialist Medical Practice Order 2003.
- Not subject to suspension under section 41A of the Medical Act 1983.
- Qualified General Practitioner (completed certificate of Completion of Training – CCT).
- Currently on a performers list and not suspended from that list or the medical register.
- Accredited as a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP), with a MBBS or equivalent medical degree.

Disclosure and Barring Service Check – This role requires a DBS check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.
Certificate of Sponsorship – Applicants requiring UK Skilled Worker sponsorship will be considered, subject to standard immigration and criminal record requirements.
