We're building a fast-paced, collaborative, and technically rigorous environment where hands‑on innovation drives impact. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated battery cell lab technician to join our team. In this role, you will support product development by assembling battery cells, setting up and performing tests, and conducting technical analysis of products.
This is a temporary position with an expected duration of approximately 3 months to support a specific high-priority project. Candidates who demonstrate strong performance and alignment with team goals will be considered for full-time employment.
What you will do- Prepare cell components before assembly; condition, mark, and inspect components and subassemblies. Assemble and build cell products and sort for test analysis.
- Set up laboratory equipment, prepare test material, conduct lab-based experiments, record and analyze data, and write test plans and reports.
- Contribute to the design of battery cell experiments and lab testing protocols that validate battery model predictions.
- Conduct testing plans for evaluating battery cell performance including capacity, cycle life, charge/discharge rates, and thermal stability. Analyze test data using statistical and data analysis software.
- Work in a team environment; organize and practice safe work habits complying with company policies and OSHA.
- Additional duties may be assigned based on company needs.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrochemistry, Physics, Engineering, or a related field (e.g., Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Materials Science, Applied Physics, Chemistry, Electrochemistry).
- 1+ years of experience working with battery cells. Experience with battery cell assembly is required. Related hands‑on experience in fields requiring fine motor skills and procedural discipline is a must.
- 2+ years of experience in a laboratory setting performing tasks that require consistency and precise attention to detail, such as battery assembly, materials handling, or electronics fabrication.
- Comfortable working independently and effectively managing multiple and shifting priorities through strong organizational skills.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across internal teams, vendors, and key stakeholders.
- Brings attention to detail and has curiosity/creativity/desire for improvement and learning new topics and technologies.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and eager to further develop professional expertise in the battery field.
- Regular activities include repeated careful handling and manipulating of objects.
- Frequent standing, walking, and reaching with hands and arms within a small lab environment and glove box equipment. Lifting or moving up to 10 pounds.
- Constant use of close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception to support fabrication.
- Candidates must be able to relocate and work on‑site. This is not a remote or hybrid position.
Job Type: Temporary
Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
