Contract opportunity as a LEU+ Civil Structural Field Engineer, onsite at Columbia Fuel Facility in Columbia, SC. The role involves assisting the Construction Superintendent and Project Engineer by overseeing civil and structural construction progress, interpreting drawings, and collaborating with the team to resolve civil and structural issues while maintaining quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Construction Superintendent and Project Engineer by overseeing civil and structural construction progress, interpreting drawings, and addressing civil/structural issues.
- Conduct regular jobsite walk‑downs to ensure compliance with engineering requirements for the assigned discipline.
- Participate in design reviews for the assigned discipline.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on project progress, issues, and other relevant information for the assigned discipline.
- Enforce safety protocols and address potential hazards to maintain a safe and injury‑free workplace.
- Participate in regular jobsite project meetings and inspections as directed by the Construction Superintendent and Project Engineer.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or an equivalent accredited degree.
- At least 7 years of discipline‑related engineering experience, with at least 3 years in the nuclear industry.
- At least 3 years of technical project execution and/or field installation experience as a field engineer or similar role in the nuclear industry.
- Previous experience in an engineering, procurement, and operations environment in the nuclear industry.
- Experience with construction methods and procedures.
- Knowledge of the theories, principles, practice, and techniques for designing structures, piping, and supports.
- Knowledge of rigging and handling practices, related standards, regulations, codes, and directives and their application.
- Knowledge of construction codes as they apply in the nuclear industry.
- Desire to exceed customers' expectations in consideration of company goals.
- OSHA 30‑hour certification or equivalent safety certification.
- Will hold and maintain a Security Clearance at a U.S. Nuclear facility.
- Occasionally carry or lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must have full range of motion.
- Freely access all points of a construction site in different environments.
- Must pass a Westinghouse physical exam, which includes a spirometer for respirator capability.

The base salary range for this position, dependent on experience, qualifications, and skills, is estimated to be $57/hour to $65/hour.
