Position:  Registered Nurse (RN) - Share the Care (Float Pool) - L&D/Nursery/Post-Partum - PRN (Clarendon) (20195046)
Location: Manning
Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values. Assesses needs of patients as assigned based on data collected through history, observation, physical examination and analysis of diagnostic data. Able to assess neonate at delivery and perform neonatal resuscitation according to AHA/AAP guidelines. Ability to perform head to toe assessments on infants and adult females and reassessments as per policy. Ability to conduct antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum assessments. Demonstrates knowledge of fetal monitoring. Identifies FHR patterns and treats appropriately. Communicates appropriately to supervisor, coworkers, providers, patients and families through bedside shift change report incorporating the family and patients preferences into the transition of the patient home. Ability to assess presenting part and cardiac activity with ultrasound. Demonstrates ability to be flexible, organized, and able to function under stressful situations. Plans individualized nursing care to meet the holistic age specific needs of patients. Provides appropriate nursing interventions, consistent with the Plan of Care and standards of practice, incorporating the Physician's prescribed medical plans of care. Using service excellence standards, conducts Hourly Rounds. Fosters an environment that demonstrates caring, compassion, and respect for all patients, families and visitors. Utilizes appropriate health and safety equipment to protect both patient and staff. Utilizes standard work in caring for central lines, foley catheters, pressure ulcers, restraints, various respiratory support systems, patient monitoring, and patients at risk for falls. Contributes to the overall performance of the department through the precepting of novice employees. Contributes to the department growth and performance through hospital-system initiatives cultivating nursing involved Evidence Based Practices. Demonstrates continued professional growth through setting goals and participating in educational offerings. Performs all other duties as assigned. Follows the tenants of Baby Friendly from birth through discharge to include skin-to-skin, parental bonding, lactation support, and proper milk preparation. Follows the tenants of Family Centered Care through family and patient involvement in formulation of the patient care plan and discharge plan.Ability to identify Malignant Hyperthermia and execute appropriate steps to initiate treatment.

Schedule: PRN.

Qualifications /Training:

Minimum of 18 months of relevant work experience.


* Active Registered Nursing License verified by the LLR
* Basic Fetal Monitoring
