This is a contract, on‑site role for a 2026 National Electric Code (NEC) Instructor for Onsite Training. The NEC Instructor will deliver instructor‑led training on the 2026 National Electric Code to electrical workers, supervisors, and safety professionals in classroom and hands‑on settings. Daily responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, tailoring course materials for client needs, and presenting complex NEC topics in a clear, practical, and engaging manner.
The instructor will assess learner comprehension through discussions, exercises, and at times, quizzes, and evaluations, and will provide feedback to help participants apply NEC requirements to real‑world work scenarios. Additional tasks include maintaining up‑to‑date knowledge of NEC changes, coordinating schedules and logistics with clients and internal staff, and documenting training activities and participant progress.
- Strong technical expertise in the National Electric Code (including 2026 edition), electrical safety, and practical field application of NEC requirements.
- Proven experience in adult education or technical training, with the ability to explain complex electrical and safety concepts in accessible, real‑world terms.
- Excellent verbal communication, presentation, and classroom facilitation skills, including the ability to engage diverse groups of learners.
- Experience tailoring training content to different industries, job roles, and skill levels, with a focus on safety, compliance, and productivity.
- Ability to plan and organize training sessions, manage time effectively, and handle on‑site logistics in collaboration with client teams.
- Comfort using instructional materials, visual aids, and basic digital tools (e.g., presentation software, learning materials in electronic formats).
- Relevant professional experience as a licensed electrician, electrical inspector, or similar role; NEC or electrical safety certifications are highly beneficial.
- Familiarity with OSHA and general workplace safety principles; prior OSHA/safety training experience is a plus.
- Commitment to a safety‑first mindset, continuous learning, and maintaining current knowledge of NEC updates and industry best practices.
