- Assist the Maintenance Manager in preparing site maintenance budget proposals and work within approved budgets.
- Assist in coordinating the in-house maintenance team’s day-to-day activities, delegating and prioritising work, and ensuring sub-contractors perform their duties according to procedures and work schedules.
- Develop and implement risk assessments and method statements for maintenance tasks, including preparation of permits to work.
- Assist in managing the site CMMS to ensure an effective maintenance process, including all inputs into CMMS systems and records of assets.
- Assist the Maintenance Manager with planning and management of planned maintenance outages, including scope of work, quality control and coordination among all parties, and be available on site during outages.
- Take responsibility for contractors on site as directed, ensuring inductions are completed and work is carried out safely and in line with Veolia’s safe working practices.
- Ensure compliance with Veolia Management System, Health and Safety policies and minimum standards to operate within legal requirements and environmental legislation.
- Assist with management of site stock holdings and critical equipment spares to ensure levels are fit for purpose.
- Be available to be called during emergency situations and plant breakdowns; participate in the standby rota as applicable.
- Apprentice trained Engineer/Technician, qualified to HNC standard in a relevant Engineering discipline; extensive relevant experience will be considered.
- An understanding of current environmental, health and safety issues and regulatory requirements.
- Proficient in the use of IT equipment, including word processing and spreadsheet software, with the ability to communicate effectively and produce clear, concise reports.
- Knowledge of computerised maintenance management systems is advantageous.
- Desirable:
Knowledge of Pressure System Safety Regulations and statutory inspection regulations. - Significant experience and knowledge of maintenance of a variety of plant and equipment, including low/medium/high voltage equipment, 415V motors, variable speed drives, switch gear, major rotating plant, boiler and steam plant and auxiliaries, material handling equipment, crane equipment, emissions abatement equipment and plant auxiliaries.
