Job title:

Pay: $22.10 - $26.35
Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 6am - 3pm

- Ability to speak, write, and read English required
- OSHA Certified Forklift License
- 1 year dispatching experience
- Must be able to operate a personal computer, smartphone, scanner, and any other equipment necessary for the job
- Must be able to type 30+ WPM
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Knowledge of dispatching and fleet management principles, practices, and protocols
- Knowledge of dimension lumber and panel products and other building materials
- Knowledge of home and commercial construction principles, practices, and protocols
- Ability to read and interpret maps
- Efficiently schedule delivery orders and credit returns
- Comes to work professionally groomed and attired
- Maintains yard cleanliness and holds team accountable for such behavior
- Introduces himself/herself to customers and/or vendors when the opportunity arises
- Ensures that credit returns are picked up in a timely manner
- Schedules backorders to ensure they are handled as a top priority
- Conducts regular ride‑a‑longs with drivers and job shadowing in the yard
- Acknowledges team member’s great work
- Proactively seeks to improve damage and cull figures
- Hold team accountable for assets for proper usage, loss, and cleanliness
- Seeks out tasks or training opportunities that may help in career advancement
- Reviews productivity reports and identifies opportunities for improvement
- Completes required Blue‑Volt training in a timely manner
- Remains current on changing Federal and State laws regarding interstate commerce and the operation of commercial motor vehicles
- Efficiently schedules delivery orders and returns in DDMS
- Understands weight, height, and length limits for DOT compliance
- Uses resources to seek information, partners with others in the company to solve problems
- Opens and closes the yard as needed
- Assists drivers with job‑site and road challenges
- Schedules loads to maximize OTIF
- Assists with yearly inventory
- Effectively manages Outlook and a personal notebook
- Holds people accountable for maintaining the schedule
- Communicates when over length and overweight permits are needed
- Ensures all paperwork, licensing, permits, insurance certificate, and truck books are orderly and kept up to date
- Works to improve truck turnaround time in the yard, and can point to improvements the team has made
- Effectively knows how to manage truck journey value
- Understands how to efficiently use order blocks, hangers, and other supplies
- Facilitates group discussions with key members for best practices
- Seeks out product transactions and order history
- Uses interyard transfer system
- Prepares and submits monthly fuel and mileage reports
- Is involved in management team’s efforts to reduce turnover
- Assists Fleet Manager in maintaining a safe, efficient, and well‑kept fleet
- Assists Driver Trainer in maintaining a safe, efficient, well‑trained staff of drivers
- Completes falcon order entry as needed
- Wears high‑visibility/proper uniform
- Reviews daily equipment inspections weekly (Trucks, brakes, cranes, trailers)
- Maintains a comfortable and safe working environment for all employees
- Proactively brings safety issues to the attention of the proper department
- Follows all company safety protocols
- Arrives on time and prepared to work
- Seeks and prioritizes cross‑training
- Shows flexibility to work for extended hours as needed
- Assists other team members with their work when appropriate
- Helps set goals and meets company deadlines for the team
- Contributes ideas to make things better, and accepts ideas from any source
- Encourages and ensures the team is always ready to help cover other yards
- Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to work indoors in a normal office environment for an entire day
- Must be able to grasp, talk, hear, and operate a computer and keyboard
- Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds and carry objects 50 feet
- Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Both local and overnight travel may be required
