Data Engineer, Data Analyst
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our team at our Cincinnati headquarters. As a Data Engineer at Senneca, you will join a high‑impact, stakeholder‑facing team building a modern, cloud‑native data platform. Reporting to the Director of Data Architecture, you will work across the full data stack—from ingestion to transformation and delivery—while supporting data governance and enabling confident, data‑driven decision‑making.
This is a hands‑on, build‑focused role in a greenfield environment using tools such as Snowflake, dbt Fusion CLI, Fivetran, and Python (Snowpark).

- Build and maintain data pipelines using Fivetran and custom solutions.
- Develop and manage dbt models across all data layers (staging to reporting).
- Optimize Snowflake performance, cost, and infrastructure.
- Implement and support data governance, quality, and documentation standards.
- Collaborate with BI teams (Power BI) to enhance reporting and semantic models.
- Maintain internal data tools and ensure clean, reliable downstream data.
- Participate in code reviews and CI/CD best practices.
- Monitor and resolve data quality issues.
- Partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- 2+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role.
- Proficiency in Snowflake (or similar), SQL, and performance optimization.
- Hands‑on experience with dbt and ELT tools (e.g., Fivetran).
- Working knowledge of Python for data pipelines.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD, and documentation best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis.
- Experience with data observability/quality tools (e.g., Elementary, dbt Expectations).
- Knowledge of data governance (ownership, access control, masking).
- Exposure to Power BI or similar BI tools.
- Experience in manufacturing or multi‑site environments.
- Familiarity with data science or machine‑learning workflows.
- Polymer processing experience (extrusion, rotational molding).
- Strong analytical and process improvement skills.
- Experience leading cross‑functional projects.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and safety standards.
