Senior Actuarial Analyst, Reserving & Loss Analytics

• Reserving & Loss Analytics
  • Assist with the Arch Quarterly Reserving process, including reserve analyses and reports, discussions with claims, underwriters, senior management, and external consultants and auditors.
  • Lead the development of new reserving techniques and innovative ways to examine data, leveraging external and internal information, and improve visualizations to support findings for senior management.
  • Conduct quarterly in-depth analysis for several business divisions, including discussions around assumptions and uncertainty, and present findings to executives while developing ongoing forecast processes.
  • Collaborate closely with business division leaders, pricing actuarial, and claims to identify loss trends and emerging issues that could impact results and develop proposals for timely corrective action.
• Financial Reporting
  • Assist with GAAP and SAP Financial Reporting, including actuarial opinions, actuarial reports, statutory statements, and 10‑Q/K reporting.
  • Support discussions that explain the quarterly results and their drivers.
• Profitability Reviews
  • Assist with Quarterly Underwriting Year, NPV, and ROE analyses.

• Prior experience in a corporate or business unit reserving function.
• Sound knowledge of actuarial techniques and standards, and understanding of related business operations including finance, underwriting, and claims.
• Demonstrated ability to exchange ideas and convey complex information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL, R, or Python is preferred.
• Ability to establish and build effective relationships within the organization.
• Experience presenting results or findings to senior management is a plus.
• Critical thinker who challenges others respectfully and is open to being challenged.
• Detail-oriented, committed to quality and accuracy.
• Ability to work well in a team environment in close partnership with Pricing Actuarial, Underwriting, Claims, IT, Finance, and other functions.

$100,000 - $150,000 per year, incentive eligible.

• Total individual compensation (base salary, short‑ and long‑term incentives) will consider geographic location, scope & responsibilities, qualifications, talent availability, specialization, and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
