Key Responsibilities
Examine patients, take medical history, record results, and make preliminary diagnoses or determine follow-up procedures.
Administer or order diagnostic tests such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and blood work, and interpret test results.
Perform therapeutic procedures such as immunizations, injections, suturing, wound care, and managing infections.
Exercise professional judgment regarding consultation with supervising physicians for appropriate treatment.
Develop and implement patient care plans, instruct and counsel patients, and record progress.
Prescribe medications in accordance with state guidelines and clinic regulations.
Provide general health education regarding diet, family planning, emotional well-being, and health maintenance.
Assist physicians as needed for emergency treatment and complex procedures.
Adhere to all facility Compliance, Safety, and HIPAA policies.
Maintain confidentiality and safeguard sensitive patient information.
QualificationsCompletion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a primary care setting preferred.
State accreditation based on certifying exam.
Maintenance of 80 CME hours every two years.
Passing of a re-credentialing exam every six years.
License renewal required every two years.
