AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. You will work with a diverse team of engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts and operations managers to deliver the highest standards of safety and security while increasing capacity at the lowest possible cost.
Key Responsibilities- Train and assist internal customers and stakeholders with the creation, design, configuration, validation, installation, commissioning and operation of BMS and EPMS systems.
- Provide technical assistance and support to operations during the life cycle of the data center.
- Review results and action items from quarterly maintenance for BMS and EPMS and take action to resolve them.
- Develop BMS and EPMS project scope of work, schedule, budget, and level of effort for requested projects.
- Manage scope, schedule, finance and execution of BMS and EPMS improvement projects in AWS data centers.
- Assist in procurement activities including response to RFI/quotation requests, review of vendor proposals, and issuance of purchase orders.
- Participate in the AWS global on‑call schedule to provide immediate BMS and EPMS technical support for in‑service data centers.
- Attend project meetings, coordinate with project leaders and regularly report status to Controls and stakeholder management.
- Support Controls projects related commissioning activities in the data centers.
- Review, implement, troubleshoot and iterate on the controls sequence of operation (SOO) and provide necessary feedback to the design team.
- Develop and modify controls logic programming and graphical user interfaces.
- Manage multiple stakeholder deliverables, requirements and navigate challenging situations.
- Financially manage BMS and EPMS service contracts.
- Frequently visit assigned in‑operation data centers to troubleshoot, meet customers, and supervise vendor work to ensure compliance with scope, design, SOO and applicable local codes.
50%‑75% travel to construction job sites across the United States, Canada and Latin American countries. Must have a valid passport, be able to obtain visas and meet travel entry requirements.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Experience carrying new design concepts through exploration, development and deployment.
- Experience with power management and power monitoring systems.
- 4+ years of general contractor and vendor management work (RFPs, bidding, change orders, quality control, RFI tracking) in construction and project execution.
- 5+ years of project management in data centers or comparable critical infrastructure.
- Knowledge of critical data center equipment and engineering documentation, electrical diagrams, SOPs and building codes (Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, OSHA).
- Experience reading and interpreting construction specifications and drawings for all domains.
- Experience in Data Center Engineering Operations with a deep understanding of electrical and mechanical infrastructure.
- Experience designing, configuring, programming, installing, troubleshooting or servicing HVAC controls or electrical SCADA systems.
- Experience with industrial communication protocols such as MQTT, BACnet or MODBUS.
- Registered as a Professional Engineer (PE) or certified Project Management Professional (PMP) is preferred.
- Prior AWS/Amazon experience is an advantage.
