The Medical Lab Technician (MLT) II (REG) performs specimen processing and routine/complex testing on blood and other specimens which requires a knowledge and understanding of quality control, basic instrument maintenance, and procedure methodologies and reference ranges. Maintains appropriate documentation of all activities as required. Demonstrates good laboratory practice.

• Reports and maintains record of patient test results through the laboratory computer system accurately, meeting published turnaround times for routine testing and stats.
• Documents patient test management problems/concerns on quality documents and initiates corrective action.
• Performs quality controls for all equipment and troubleshoots malfunctioning instrumentation as necessary; monitors quality control performance and corrects any problems and or reports any problems to the appropriate department.
• Operates all instrumentation in assigned areas to deliver precise, timely, and accurate laboratory results. Performs laboratory procedures for specimen collection, processing, and test analysis.
• Trains new personnel in methods, procedures, and use of equipment and instruments specific to the assigned area.

• Associate’s Degree
• Physical/Life Science or related major

• No experience

• ASCP, AMT, AAB or equivalent or eligible
