Join Pretium Packaging at our facility in St Louis, MO as an on-site Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a hands-on Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to support safety, compliance, and environmental programs within a dynamic manufacturing environment. In this role, you will be a partner with operations, maintenance, engineering, and leadership teams to ensure safe work practices, reduce risk, and strengthen safety culture across the facility.

What You’ll Do:

Safety & Regulatory Compliance:

  • Support and maintain the Pretium Packaging EHS program in compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations
  • Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across manufacturing operations
  • Investigate incidents, injuries, and near misses to determine root cause and implement corrective actions
  • Maintain OSHA logs, safety documentation, and compliance records
  • Report current/potential issues to the plant leadership and provide potential solutions
  • Support environmental programs including waste management, emissions, stormwater, and chemical handling
  • Monitor hazardous and non-hazardous waste handling and storage
  • Assist with environmental inspections and regulatory reporting

Safety Training & Culture:

  • Deliver safety training including:
  • Lockout/Tagout
  • PPE and hazard communication
  • Ergonomics and emergency response
  • Engage employees in safety initiatives, committees, and continuous improvement efforts

Risk Reduction & Continuous Improvement:

  • Partner with operations to identify hazards associated with:
  • Plastics processing equipment
  • Robotics and automation
  • Compressed air systems
  • Material handling and resins
  • Support implementation of engineering and administrative safety controls
  • Track safety metrics and support improvement initiatives
  • Assist with emergency response planning including:
  • Spill response
  • Medical emergency coordination
  • Support drills and emergency response teams

You will Be a Good Fit If You Have:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing
  • Experience in plastics, injection molding, blow molding, or industrial manufacturing is strongly preferred
  • OSHA 30 Certification preferred

Certifications (Preferred):

  • CHST, ASP, or other professional safety certification
  • First Aid / CPR / AED

Key

Skills:

  • English, bilingual…the ability to speak Spanish is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA and environmental compliance
  • Experience investigating incidents and performing root cause analysis
  • Ability to influence employees and leadership to drive safe work practices

    Strong documentation and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
