JOB SUMMARY:

Provides various levels of support and services to areas of the supply chain and operations, such as entering and processing information, working with carriers and providers to update information, track and trace details, and ensure service levels, and providing levels of customer service.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Summary: Performs complex to specialized support to areas of the supply chain and operations, such as identifying operational or service concerns, running and analyzing operational reports, and interfacing with carriers on requirements. Generally requires full knowledge of customers and carriers, addressing complex or escalated internal or external customer questions and concerns, and providing more complex customer service, and tracking and tracking needs.

  • Receives and processes documents for accuracy, which requires complex knowledge of customers, carriers, and procedures.
  • Use shipment creation information from internal systems to order cost effective and timely deliveries in and out of the distribution center (inbound arrival / empty termination / equipment reutilization)
  • Order transport deliveries within internal system (CNS) into local EQS / DT
  • Processes operational data in software systems and applications, identifies missing or potential operational or service concerns, and resolves with the appropriate groups.
  • Utilizes databases, logs, and other sources to locate and verify information; information is usually complex in nature.
  • Identifies and completes services or assists others that require special or expedited handing.
  • Addresses complex or escalated internal or external customer questions and concerns regarding shipments, billing, status, services, carriers, and other needs.
  • Tracks orders and shipments and assists with tracing as needed.
  • Runs, analyzes and summarizes operational reports and details; presents information to co-workers or supervisors, as needed.
  • Interfaces with shipping, truck and related carriers to understand requirements, track shipments or details; operations are typically complex in nature.
  • Provide alerts to affected distribution center departments of transport delays / incorrect shipments / diversions
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures and a safe and effective work environment; assists others with understanding operational items.
  • Develops critical relationships with internal or external customers, assists with account management such as maintaining customer profiles, details and service needs.
  • Reviews for operational accuracy, works with customers on questions; assists others as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Associates Degree, or equivalent combination of work experience is preferred.

Experience:

  • Two years of specialized logistics or related operations support experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Developing relationships with customers and internal operations.
  • Advanced operational and support principles and practices in supply chain environments.
  • Applying and following policies and procedures.
  • Utilizing databases and systems to review and verify logistics and transportation information.
  • Relaying communications between carriers, providers, and customers.
  • Preparing and handing off transportation and logistics requirements.
  • Tracking and tracing shipments or product, typically domestic and more complex.
  • Working with providers, carriers and services in a transportation/logistics environment.
  • Identifying operational delays.
  • Communicating and working to resolve potential concerns or delays.
  • Operating in a fast pace and changing logistics/transportation environment.
  • Operating in both a team and individual contributor environment.
  • Communicating with co-workers to provide and receive direction.
  • Preparing operational reports, queries, and service information.
  • Preparing service details.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, Internet, web-based and job specific software applications.
