Position SummaryThe Assistant Project Manager is an entry‑level project management position responsible for learning and developing competency in Essential Duties and Responsibilities. The APM provides administrative and construction support to the Project Management team.
Responsibilities- Manage project documentation, including submittals, RFIs and meeting minutes.
- Oversee project activities assigned by the Project Manager, including planning, coordinating, resolving problems, and ensuring compliance with company/project policies, procedures and standards.
- Maintain change orders, submittal and document (drawing) control logs and prepare required logs for construction meetings.
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely contract submittals.
- Create and issue subcontractor contracts.
- Assemble and deliver Owner and Maintenance Manuals.
- Ensure the project quality control plan is followed.
- Interact with subcontractors to obtain correct documentation and drawings for the manuals.
- Maintain the Warranty Log.
- Attend company/project meetings with clients, subcontractors, etc., and provide project management support.
- Cooperate with and technically assist field personnel.
- Monitor contractor activities and progress.
- Create Job Information Sheets and establish Job Files.
- Prepare price change orders and project reports and documentation.
- Collaborate with payroll to ensure accurate payroll information.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on the position’s role within the business unit.
- Knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, equipment and methods.
- Tactful with a professional demeanor and ability to interact effectively with managers, employees, vendors, and others.
- Strong organizational, record‑keeping and follow‑up skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellence in organization and time‑management.
- Ability to identify and meet customer expectations and requirements.
- Proficient with computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.);
Oracle preferred. - Prioritizes and manages multiple tasks, adjusting to changing priorities.
- Works under pressure and adapts to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Self‑motivated, proactive and an effective team player.
- Effective communication with all levels of employees, vendors, clients, and others.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a construction‑related role, or equivalent combination of training, education, and relevant experience.

This position is performed primarily on active construction sites. Activity includes sitting for extended periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions, such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning. Noise level is typically low to medium.
