Rate: Market rate (Inside IR35)
Duration: 6 months
Role OverviewThis role offers the opportunity to work within large-scale, mission-critical Linux and high-performance computing environments where your expertise will have real impact.
You will gain exposure to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9, high‑end GPU workstations and advanced HPC platforms, while working closely with technical and business teams in a collaborative environment.
We are seeking a Linux Administrator to support and optimise enterprise‑grade Linux infrastructure, focusing on system stability, performance and continuous improvement across complex HPC and GPU‑based environments.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical support for high‑end GPU workstations within an enterprise environment
- Install, configure and maintain enterprise software on Red Hat Enterprise Linux platforms
- Troubleshoot complex Linux system issues using structured diagnostic approaches
- Support large‑scale project delivery through collaboration with cross‑functional teams
- Conduct performance testing on HPC platforms using custom scripts and tools
- Analyse system performance and utilisation data to generate actionable insights
- Produce detailed technical reports on system performance, resource usage and key metrics
- Present findings to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
- Lead or support technical discussions to ensure alignment and successful delivery
- Ensure systems meet security, compatibility and operational standards
- Proven experience as a Linux Administrator or Systems Engineer
- Strong expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 system administration
- Proficiency in shell scripting and automation
- Experience supporting high‑end GPU workstation environments
- Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills within Linux environments
- Experience working with HPC platforms, including performance testing
- Ability to analyse system data and translate findings into meaningful insights
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work across diverse teams
- Experience supporting enterprise‑scale, project‑based environments
- Experience installing and configuring enterprise software on Linux systems
- Exposure to large‑scale or cross‑departmental transformation programmes
- Ability to manage multiple priorities within fast‑paced environments
