Instrumentation & Controls Technician

62-26 Instrumentation & Controls Technician: position performs a variety of skilled tasks involved in the maintenance, modification, operation, and upgrading of the instrumentation, controls, and communications systems of Stillwater Electric Utility’s Power Generation Station and electric substations.  This position reports directly to the Generation and Transmission Supervisor.
Exercise functional and technical supervision over assigned Electric Power System Technicians as required. Maintain and modify control systems, related hardware and software, and all related equipment; inspect system for problems and take corrective action as necessary; coordinate repair of various components with vendors. Respond to emergency situations as applicable. Maintain and operate portable gas analyzer and associated equipment for emissions compliance testing.

Monitor, inspect, and maintain various communications systems including radio, fiber, serial, and network equipment. Oversee and provide training for appropriate personnel in the use of SCADA and WOIS control systems.

Requirements:
Any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying: EET degree or degree in closely related field is preferred. Five (5) years of responsible experience in working with electronics, instrumentation, controls, and communication is preferred. Previous experience working in a power generation station or in electrical substations is preferred. High school diploma or equivalent and valid driver’s license is required.

Pay Rate: $53.55 per hour DOQ, plus a comprehensive benefit package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k, annual leave, sick leave, holidays, and personal days. A completed City of Stillwater application is required for consideration. Closing Date: 6/9/26
