Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) are Field-based Medical Affairs Associates of Novartis, who develop peer-to-peer relationships with Medical Experts/Key Stakeholders and members of the scientific community, utilizing scientific and medical evidence-based non-promotional materials. They strategically prepare, drive and support the development, launch and commercialization of Novartis products through impactfull scientific exchange, seeking external insight to shape Novartis understanding of the therapeutic environment with tight cross-functional alignment. Their activities begin usually from two years prior to launch of a new molecule.


Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Owns and constantly develops professional relationships, builds advocacy and gains contributions of ME / decision makers, and structures the information in the MEEP

•Co-create and drives (from a medical perspective) the local business strategy in tight collaboration with cross-functional colleagues.

•Collects, analyzes, reports and proactively shares insights (i.e. CRM System and local cross-functional team) that may impact Novartis development plans / trial designs/and local business strategy.

• Liaises and communicates (with impact) up-to-date medical literature to relevant external groups to facilitate listing of products in medical guidelines, formularies to impact pricing and health economic discussions, and to shape the local disease management. And provides scientific information and speaker training to healthcare professionals to support the best use of new therapies developed and commercialized by Novartis

•Together with CRMA: Supports the investigational sites, as needed, as part of a cross-functional team with Interna-tional Clinical Research Organization (ICRO) and the Medical Advisor and others as appropriate.


Minimum requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:

• MD, PhD, pharmacist and other life sciences education

• Solid medical/technical background and proven competencies influencing skills, clinical research insight, business and market knowledge

• Fluent in Swedish and English

• Experience as ER or ICU or CCU or Cardiology

• Preferably 3 years of clinical experience specially in acute clinical care setting, and/or in- hospital experience or in-hospital management
