Overview
Motor Vehicle Operator (2600106). The Motor Vehicle Operator will prepare supply requests and drive motor vehicles in order to transport scheduled deliveries.
Responsibilities- Perform deliveries and pickups of various materials throughout the campus.
- Schedule and execute deliveries of prepared supply orders.
- Prepare supply requests by pulling inventory according to work orders.
- Service window customers in a timely, accurate and professional manner by providing requested inventory utilizing barcode scanners and computerized inventory programs.
- Load, unload and physically handle equipment, furniture, supplies, etc., by operating pallet jacks, forklifts, and motor vehicles in a safe manner.
- Perform routine daily cycle counts of inventory and assist with annual physical inventory count.
- Other duties or projects as assigned as appropriate to rank and departmental mission.
Required Qualifications: As per Civil Service standards and specifications. Must be able to move heavy objects. Must have, keep and maintain the appropriate valid Class B NYS Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). In addition, must participate in the Omnibus Transportation Employee Testing Act (drug and alcohol testing) as required; have a motor vehicle record which is free from major violations or a pattern of repeat violations.

This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. FLSA Nonexempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Mandatory rehire roster candidates have preference. SG 7 Hiring Rate $38,235. This position includes location pay of $4,000 per year.
The selected candidate must successfully clear a background investigation.
