Product Design Technician – Level III
We are looking for a talented candidate to join our engineering team in Stoughton, WI.
Responsibilities- Create and maintain precise specifications, drawings, and 3‑D models that align with company, industry, national, and international standards.
- Develop complex CAD models, assemblies, and drawings to improve design accuracy and manufacturability, ensuring proper fit and integration with mating components.
- Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to produce clear, production‑ready product specifications.
- Utilize CAD data management tools to support configuration control and data integrity, keeping engineering records secure and accurate.
- Process engineering work requests, collaborate cross‑functionally, and support timely execution of design activities to enhance operational efficiency.
- Lead and participate in Drawing Quality Reviews, ensuring models and drawings meet release standards.
- Partner with engineering teams to generate concept models and refine product designs, contributing to innovation and product development.
- Mentor less experienced Product Designers, share best practices, and sustain high‑quality design standards.
- Advanced mechanical design modeling and analysis skills, including accurate CAD models and support for Dimensional Variation Analysis and Finite Element Analysis.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems design to create innovative, robust solutions that meet customer requirements across all lifecycle stages and operating environments.
- Precision in developing mechanical design specifications, including complete solid models, engineering bills of materials, and detailed drawings that clearly communicate manufacturing and inspection requirements.
- Strong configuration and change management practices to maintain product integrity and manage engineering changes throughout the product lifecycle.
- Knowledge of company, industry, national, and international standards to ensure compliance and design consistency.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with functional teams, align stakeholders, and convey technical information to diverse audiences.
- Sound decision‑making ability based on thorough evaluation of information to support project progress and organizational goals.
- Capacity to manage complexity by organizing, analyzing, and prioritizing large amounts of technical information for efficient problem solving and successful design outcomes.
- High school diploma or equivalent in a STEM field (required).
- Regional certification or a two‑year Associate’s Degree from an accredited college/university in a relevant field (may be required).
- Possible licensing for export control or sanctions compliance may be required.
- Significant relevant work experience or specialized skills gained through education, training, or on‑the‑job experience.
- Position is in CES ATA Design team, focused on current product support activities.
- Collaboration with global drafting group, CN planners, VPCR change managers, and other engineering team members is required to execute VPCR work.
- Must possess strong 3‑D CAD modelling skills (including wiring/cabling modules) and knowledge of drafting practices, GD&T, and Windchill release process.
- Basic understanding of DVA and tolerance stack‑up is an added advantage.
