Position: (USA) Technician, General Facilities Maintenance Food Tech

Position Summary

General Facilities Maintenance Technician responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining commercial food equipment and related systems in Walmart stores. The role supports the operational integrity of food service areas through preventive maintenance, training, documentation, and emergency repairs.

Equipment Serviced
  • Food equipment: combi ovens, deli slicers, auto meat cutters, fryers, hot cases, ice makers, pizza ovens, rotisserie ovens, thermoglazers, donut cases, four‑bowl warmers, bakery ovens, bread slicers, tortilla makers.
  • Grease and oil systems: oil/water separators, used cooking oil tanks.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets using multiple craft skills and tools.
  • Use the work order management system to receive and document reactive repair work orders.
  • Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
  • Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
  • Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
Qualifications
  • 18 years or older.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs at a time and move up and down ladders frequently.
  • Comfortable working at heights frequently.
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
  • Ready to work in various temperatures.
  • Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Vocational or technical certification plus at least one year of experience, OR two years of total work experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or a related trade.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completion of a 2‑year vocational or technical trade program.
  • License in a related trade in the city or state where the job is located.
  • Intermediate proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Compensation
  • Hourly wage range: $19.00 – $35.00, depending on location, experience, and qualifications.
  • Possible additional hourly premiums ($0.35 – $3.00) based on schedule, facility, or specific work performed.
