Job Summary
Warehouse Associate 3 (Picker) – Eastern Distribution Center, Suffolk, VA 23434.
Position type: Full time.
Salary range: $17.00 – $25.00 per hour.
- Picks all line orders and stages them for shipping.
- Builds pallets according to standard.
- Stages product on shipping dock according to shipping schedule.
- Utilizes RF Scanner to ensure accuracy of product.
- Matches shade numbers through label verification.
- Creates a new license plate and places it on pallet when needed.
- Turns in breakage sheet daily.
- Reads item labels and identifies product type.
- Navigates warehouse effectively.
- Promotes Emser Tile culture and values in a busy environment.
- Highly organized, goal‑oriented, results‑driven and customer‑focused.
- Uses database and query functions.
- Accurately reads and responds to non‑verbal communication.
- Demonstrates leadership skills including critical thinking, decision making, and listening.
- Employs influence, relationship building, composure, and open communication tactics to build trust with internal and external customers.
- Performs basic math functions (piece to square foot calculations).
- Communicates effectively at all organizational levels.
- 1–3 years of experience in a picking position.
- Bi‑lingual in Spanish is a plus.
- Ability to work in a Distribution Center environment (cold in winter, hot in summer).
- Ability to work in a loud environment.
- Lift weight up to 100+ pounds.
- See and hear.
- Use hands and arms.
- Work on a computer for long periods of time.
- Bend and kneel.
- Forklift certification required.
- Regular, predictable attendance is essential.
- Hourly position with a predetermined workday; may be asked to work more based on business need.
