Job Title: Manual Machinists
Quantity = 2 openings - one each in 1st + 2nd shift (See Note 1 for timings)
Location: Summit, NJ
Compensation: Pay Rate Range of $30 - $45 per hr. + OT + $5 for 2nd shift differential
Relocation: Company offers a lump Sum amount for relocation assistance of around $2.5K - $5k

Company Info:
This is a privately owned growing company in business for 70+ years. They have 400+ people in their plant, many of them with stable, long-term 40+ years of employment. There is a machine shop in the plant.
The Company produces precision flow control components like Solenoid valves, Pressure Vessels, Regulators using high precision machining (Mills & Lathes) in a Union Shop for mission critical applications in the Aerospace and Aviation industries.
Note 1: There are 2 positions - 1 in 1st shift = 6am - 2:30pm, 1 in 2nd Shift = 2:00pm - 10:30pm.
Note 2: The client also needs 2 additional Machinists for CNC machine operation.
Job Summary:
- Under minimum supervision working from blueprints, sketches written and/or verbal instructions, sets up and performs the most diversified and complex progressive machining, fitting and assembly operations.
- Determines proper tooling and sequence of operations, and skillfully uses all machinists' hand tools and machine shop measuring equipment in order to produce work to specifications.
- Must be able to make complicated set-ups and operate available machine tools; determine operational sequences, proper jigs, fixtures and design of tool to be used.

- Must be able to skillfully use all machinist's hand tools and measuring instruments.
- Must be familiar with the machining of most materials.
- Must be able to use advanced shop math, including trigonometry.
- May be required to assign work to lower-level machinists.
- Moves parts to and from the work area.
- High School Diploma or Apprenticeship program or 4 years of on the job
- 5+ years' experience as a Machinist - Mills or Lathes.
- Ability to operate standard/specialized equipment to produce prototype/production parts
- Ability to perform standard shop computations, using technical math, geometry and trigonometry.
- In-depth knowledge of geometric dimensions and tolerances - GD&T
- Candidate must have "Team" like mentality and be willing to work with a group
- Proficient use of set up and operation of Mills / Lathes.
- Proficient use of tool and surface grinders
- Proficient use of all shop inspection equipment, including but not limited to, CMM, comparator, digital height gages, micrometers, etc.
- Experience in the Aerospace Industry
- Bridgeport Mills and Hardinge Lathes
