Production Shift Manager
Manage and direct supervision of processing production shift operations to ensure production meets objectives at a designed quality level consistent with the lowest cost while maintaining a safe work environment.
Responsibilities- Manage the plant’s further processing production operations.
- Coordinate production, maintenance, sanitation, quality, shipping, and receiving areas.
- Monitor performance of each department to meet production efficiency, yield, and quality goals.
- Set objectives and review shift performance versus objectives.
- Encourage subordinates to reduce cost.
- Ensure sanitation meets USDA standards.
- Cooperate on production and sanitation maintenance to meet daily needs.
- Analyze equipment daily and review with maintenance superintendent.
- Provide clear direction for supervisors to work toward teamwork to achieve goals.
- Establish challenging goals for each supervisor and encourage best effort.
- Utilize human resources by training, motivating performance, appraising, recommending salary action, and developing potential promotion.
- Meet company policies, quality specifications, USDA, and OSHA standards.
- Conduct plant inspections to eliminate hazardous conditions.
- Assure a safe working environment by taking immediate action against improper practices or hazardous conditions.
- 5+ years of experience in the poultry/food industry with at least 3 years in a supervisory/management role.
- Good leadership skills.
- Ability to interact with operational and processing management.
- Critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work.
High School Diploma/GED;
Bachelor's Degree preferred.

- Base Salary range of $125,000 +/- based on experience.
