Production Shift Manager

Manage and direct supervision of processing production shift operations to ensure production meets objectives at a designed quality level consistent with the lowest cost while maintaining a safe work environment.

• Manage the plant’s further processing production operations.
• Coordinate production, maintenance, sanitation, quality, shipping, and receiving areas.
• Monitor performance of each department to meet production efficiency, yield, and quality goals.
• Set objectives and review shift performance versus objectives.
• Encourage subordinates to reduce cost.
• Ensure sanitation meets USDA standards.
• Cooperate on production and sanitation maintenance to meet daily needs.
• Analyze equipment daily and review with maintenance superintendent.
• Provide clear direction for supervisors to work toward teamwork to achieve goals.
• Establish challenging goals for each supervisor and encourage best effort.
• Utilize human resources by training, motivating performance, appraising, recommending salary action, and developing potential promotion.
• Meet company policies, quality specifications, USDA, and OSHA standards.
• Conduct plant inspections to eliminate hazardous conditions.
• Assure a safe working environment by taking immediate action against improper practices or hazardous conditions.

• 5+ years of experience in the poultry/food industry with at least 3 years in a supervisory/management role.
• Good leadership skills.
• Ability to interact with operational and processing management.
• Critical thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work.

High School Diploma/GED;
Bachelor's Degree preferred.
