Software Engineer, Sweeps

We’re looking for a software engineer on the Sweeps team to own an end‑to‑end user‑facing product that helps practitioners design and run hyperparameter searches.

• Own development and evolution of the Sweeps product, maintaining existing systems while shipping new functionality, primarily focused on backend logic and APIs.
• Implement and evolve sweep semantics and hyperparameter generation logic.
• Debug and resolve user‑reported issues involving backend behavior, agent execution, or UI interactions.
• Improve reliability, performance, and correctness of sweep execution as usage scales.
• Build and maintain integrations between Sweeps and external hyperparameter tuning libraries such as Optuna and Ray Tune.

• 4+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Backend‑leaning full‑stack experience building and maintaining user‑facing products.
• Strong fundamentals and proficiency with at least one modern language such as Python, Go, or Type Script.
• Comfortable debugging complex, real‑world user workflows that span multiple components.
• Self‑motivated, capable of high ownership and autonomy in a fast‑paced environment.
• Effective collaboration with PMs and cross‑functional partners to translate user needs into technical solutions.

• Experience on experimentation systems, developer tools, or ML‑related products.
• Familiarity with hyperparameter optimization or ML workflows.
• Experience integrating third‑party libraries or SDKs into a product.

Base salary range: $109,000–$160,000, plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits.
