Reports To:
Structural Discipline Lead
Key Responsibilities Prepare and develop detailed structural drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, and other drafting software
Produce accurate construction drawings for steel, concrete, wood, and masonry structural systems
Interpret engineering sketches, markups, and specifications to create clear and complete design documentation
Update and revise drawings based on redlines, RFIs, and project changes
Coordinate drawings with architectural, mechanical, civil, and other disciplines
Assist in BIM modeling and ensure alignment with project standards and coordination requirements
Support the review and coordination of shop drawings and submittals during construction
Maintain drawing standards, templates, and best practices in accordance with company guidelines
Organize and manage drawing files, project documentation, and version control
Assist with quantity take-offs and preparation of basic material lists as required
Conduct site visits and field measurements to support drawing accuracy when needed
Ensure all deliverables meet applicable codes, standards, and quality control requirements
Communicate effectively with project teams to meet deadlines and resolve drafting issues
Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and consistency prior to submission
Contribute to continuous improvement of drafting processes and efficiencies
Qualifications Diploma in Civil or Structural Engineering Technology or a related field
Minimum 6-8 years of experience in structural drafting in a consultancy environment
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD is required
Experience with Revit and BIM workflows is highly desirable
Familiarity with structural detailing for various building materials and systems for commercial, residential and infrastructure projects
Working knowledge of construction drawings, standards, and practices
Basic understanding of Canadian building codes and drafting standards
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, accurate drawings
Effective time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced consulting environment
Valid Class 5 driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required
