Shelter Resource Worker

Position: Full Time Shelter Resource Worker
Contribute to community support as a Shelter Resource Worker at Lookout in Surrey, BC. In this full-time role, you’ll provide critical assistance and supervision to homeless adults in need.
The Shelter Resource Worker operates within a 24/7 emergency shelter, reporting to the Site Manager. Essential tasks include conducting guest intakes, connecting individuals with public services, and ensuring a safe environment for all. This position requires compassion and resilience, addressing challenges like homelessness, addictions, and mental health.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide support and supervision to homeless adults

• Connect guests to community resources and services

• Conduct interviews and provide basic necessities

• Maintain records and statistical data accurately

• Assist in training new staff members
Requirements:

• Certificate in a related field or Grade 12 plus 2 years experience

• Knowledge of community support services

• Current Occupational First Aid Level 1 Certificate

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Criminal Record Clearance for Vulnerable Sector
