Family Counsellor

Position: Family Counsellor Needed
Join PCRS as a Family Counsellor, dedicated to fostering healthy family dynamics. Provide crucial conflict resolution and mediation support to youth and their families in Surrey.

In this regular full-time role, you’ll work 35 hours per week, engaging directly with families through in-home and community sessions. The Family Counsellor must analyze child protection scenarios and communicate effectively with the Ministry of Children and Family Development. Flexibility is key, as you’ll occasionally work evenings and weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver brief solution-focused counselling to families

• Analyze and report child protection concerns to MCFD

• Collaborate with integrated staff within the Surrey Youth Hubs

• Facilitate group sessions with a focus on cultural sensitivity

• Engage with families in their homes and communities

Requirements:

• Expertise in family dynamics and child development

• Proven skills in crisis response and mediation

• Experience working with diverse family backgrounds

• Strong understanding of trauma-informed practices

• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
