Deputy Manager - Children's Residential Care

Location:

Neath Port Talbot
Salary: £37,500 + bonus

Hours:

Monday-Friday

Contract:

Full-time, permanent

We are looking for an experienced Deputy Manager to join a 4‑bedded children's residential home supporting four young people in the Neath Port Talbot area.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone ready to step into a key leadership position while making a real difference to the lives of young people.

About the Role

As Deputy Manager, you will help ensure the smooth and effective running of the home.

Responsibilities include:

Leading and inspiring staff using a trauma‑informed, outcome‑focused approach
Supporting the Registered Manager with compliance, safeguarding and operational oversight
Planning and supervising shifts Monday-Friday to maintain consistent, high‑quality care
Coaching, mentoring and supervising staff to support their development
Ensuring care/pathway plans are followed and regularly reviewed
Maintaining clear, accurate and compliant records and documentation

What We're Looking For

To succeed in this role, you will need:

QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People)
At least 2 years' experience in a residential children's care setting, including shift leading
A full manual driving licence (6 points or fewer)
Strong communication and leadership skills
A passion for supporting young people and developing staff teams
Must be 21+ due to care regulations
