Reports to: EAS or ESY Site Administrator
Job Description- Develop lessons based on IEP goals and objectives to meet the individual needs of students.
- Provide direct instruction using a variety of techniques.
- Communicate with the school team, parents, guardians, and outside agencies regarding student progress.
- Ensure modifications and accommodations are implemented throughout the day.
- Manage student behavior; follow behavior plans, implement behavior contracts, and set up classroom behavior plans.
- Use district‑approved tools to design small‑group instruction.
- Provide differentiated instruction based on identified student needs.
- Maintain student attendance and progress data.
- Complete ESY progress reports at the end of the program, upload on CT‑SEDS, and provide to parents/guardians/surrogates.
- Use technologies appropriate to the learning needs of the student (Google Classroom, Kami, Atlas curriculum sites).
- Other duties assigned by the summer school administrator.
- Preferred candidates will be considered for employment.
Applicants must have appropriate special education certification for the position sought.
Physical and Mental RequirementsEmployees appointed to positions in this class must have adequate physical strength, stamina, agility, and visual and auditory acuity, and must maintain such fitness to perform the duties of the class. A physical examination may be required.
