Project Overview
The role is part of an SNSF (ERC) Advanced Grant project titled “Predicting hotspots of climate change impacts on ecosystems from an eco-evolutionary biome framework”. The project aims at mapping global biomes, projecting global change impacts on biomes, and testing a novel eco-evolutionary biome theory.
ResponsibilitiesContribute to the development of a mapping pipeline of global biomes, using and analyzing gridded data on climate, remote sensing, and other factors together with species occurrence data and plant trait information. Analyse biome boundaries and map the spatial distribution of important plant functional types globally. Test and refine the new biome biogeography theory by confronting its predictions with data and generating key products for analysis.
