Reports to: Manager, Engineering Services Department: Engineering Services Classification:  Full Time

This position’s responsibility is to set-up, deploy, trouble-shoot, fix, and upgrade company & client computers, servers, desktop software, and peripheral equipment including printers, and phones, while working as part of a team.

• Works with staff as appropriate to determine and resolve problems
• Perform analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of desktop and server problems, remotely and including off-site company and client locations as needed
• Assist with onboarding of new users
• Works with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems
• Perform upgrades, installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of desktop computers, peripheral equipment and desktop applications, systems and servers, to ensure compliance with established standards and guidelines.
• Maintains accurate information and data regarding issues within associated tracking mechanisms and helpdesk systems, according to policies and standards
• Participates in inventory tracking and management of all technology hardware as required
• Resolve issues with associated workstation networking hardware and software products.
• Perform moves, ads, and changes (MAC) requests as requested

• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Position Requirements
Tech School,   3 to 4 Years work experience
• Associated IT experience – 3+ years
• Good understanding/working knowledge of IT practices and principles, and networking fundamentals
• Strong communication, organization and time management skills
• Ability to prioritize, plan and complete tasks daily
• Occasional on-call availability for nights and weekends
• Able to travel – may require overnight
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs
• Self-motivated
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Valid NYS Driver’s License and reliable vehicle
• Must be able to troubleshoot the following areas:
Windows Server Environments
VMWare Environment
Hyper-V Environments
Windows 10
Microsoft Office 365
• Familiarity with switches/firewalls/network equipment a plus
• Telephony experience with Cisco and/or similar services a plus
• Continuing education and training in attainment of vendor certifications and specializations is a condition of employment.
• Experience working with ConnectWise and deploying Automate Agents preferred

One or more of the following, or commensurate certification or specialization:
• Cisco CCNA/CCNP preferred
• Trend Micro Worry-Free Business and Small Business Security Essentials
• VMware – VTSP – DV – Technical Sales Professional – Desktop Virtualization
• Microsoft Technical Associate (MTA)
Required Language Skills:
  • English - Very good
