Position OverviewBellarmine Preparatory School seeks an Educational Technology Innovation Specialist who is passionate about classroom innovation, student learning, and the thoughtful use of technology to advance teaching and learning. This is a full‑time, 12‑month position designed for a hands‑on practitioner who lives in classrooms — co‑teaching with faculty, designing technology‑rich lessons, and helping students and teachers explore what is possible with current and emerging tools.
RoleFocus and Priorities
- Classroom‑embedded technology integration with teachers and students across all departments
- Identifying, piloting, and championing emerging educational technologies, including AI tools that support classroom learning
- Student technology onboarding and digital literacy curriculum
- Software vetting and student data privacy stewardship
- Spend the majority of work hours in classrooms, partnering with teachers on technology integration, lesson design, and student‑centered innovation.
- Co‑teach lessons with faculty, model integration approaches, and provide hands‑on support as teachers adopt new tools.
- Identify emerging educational technologies, evaluate their fit for Bellarmine’s mission and student learning needs, and lead pilot implementations.
- Develop department‑specific technology integration roadmaps in partnership with department chairs that align tool use with curriculum goals and the Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm (IPP).
- Champion a culture of innovation, experimentation, and reflective practice in classroom technology use.
- Integrate ISTE standards for students, educators, and leaders into daily technology practice.
- Support technology access and tool recommendations for diverse learners in collaboration with the Academic Center of Excellence (ACE).
- Evaluate the effectiveness of technology integration using data and direct observation, and use findings to guide future initiatives.
- Lead the integration of AI tools into classroom instruction, including hands‑on faculty support, lesson design partnerships, and student AI literacy.
- Manage and support school‑approved AI platforms (Flint AI, Google Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, Notebook
LM), including faculty onboarding and ongoing classroom support. - Evaluate emerging AI tools for instructional fit, classroom application, and student data privacy alignment.
- Promote responsible AI use practices that honor student data privacy, academic integrity, and Jesuit values of discernment and whole‑person development.
- Design and facilitate new student technology orientation each August, including iPad onboarding, device setup through Jamf School, and access to the school’s student information system.
- Develop and teach student‑facing digital literacy curriculum, including responsible use expectations, data privacy awareness, and tool fluency.
- Lead or support a student EdTech advisory group to incorporate student voice in technology planning and evaluation.
- Provide supplemental student training when new platforms or tools are adopted school‑wide.
- Organize and facilitate professional development sessions, lunch‑and‑learns, and embedded learning opportunities related to educational technology.
