Job Summary

Citibank, N.A. seeks a Model/Analysis/Validation Officer for its Tampa, Florida location.

Build market risk models for regulatory capital calculation and stress testing to ensure compliance with global regulatory frameworks and provide insights into the firm’s exposure to market fluctuations. Conduct model changes and address limitations to improve performance in response to regulatory requirements or front‑office requests. Develop and implement market risk model methodologies, algorithms, and diagnostic tools, integrating quantitative risk measurement work including backtesting, sensitivity analysis, assumption analysis, data quality checks, model reliability and stability assessments, and stress testing to ensure model robustness.

Work with market risk management systems, data flows, data definitions, and data requirements for various trading products and perform multiple analyses to meet risk manager and business needs. Collaborate with senior model developers, risk managers, business clients, validators, Risk IT, internal and external auditors, and regulators to assist with model risk management and fulfill internal risk management requirements. Perform ongoing model performance analysis to discover, understand, and quantify model limitations, providing comprehensive interpretations, explanations, and conclusions for resolving model issues.

Use Windows and Linux environments, and program with Python, R, and SQL. Develop, maintain, and enhance technical documentation including project plans, model descriptions, mathematical derivations, data analysis, and quality controls.

Requires a Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Financial Mathematics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field and 4 years of experience in model/analysis/validation roles that develop tools for measuring financial models and ensuring the reliability, accuracy, and stability of quantitative models used in risk management. Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree in the stated fields and 6 years of progressively responsible, post‑baccalaureate experience are acceptable.

Experience must include supporting market risk analytics projects in FRTB, CCAR, and ICAAP; developing market risk models for quantifying exposure and calculating regulatory capital; implementing new models, resolving production issues, and enhancing existing implementations; calibrating model parameters and performing variance analysis; conducting ongoing analysis including backtesting and profit attribution analysis (PAA); engaging market risk managers; developing and maintaining technical documentation;

and utilizing quantitative methodologies such as linear and non‑linear regression, Monte Carlo simulation, numerical analysis methods, scenario analysis, and stress‑testing frameworks.

Wage Range: $134,000 to $180,218. Salary may also include discretionary and formulaic incentive and retention awards for eligible employees.
