Kalmar Terminal Solutions is looking for Software Developers focusing on terminal operation optimization to join our team in Tampere. You will change the way that both Kalmar and our customers do business and help reshaping our industry forever.

Main tasks and responsibilities: 

  • Focus on developing cutting edge software products and optimization algorithms that will enable modern container terminals to become fully automated over time. Primary development is F# in a .NET environment, but additional languages may be used depending on the application
  • Collaborate with a highly skilled group of architects, designers and product managers to deliver innovative solutions that will be the envy of our competitors.
  • What you'll need to succeed:

    We are looking for a team player, eager to experience something new and exciting and on top of this all, want to make products that will change our industry.

    Ideally you have: 

  • MSc or BSc in Software Engineering or Automation Information Technology
  • Strong understanding of software algorithms and structures
  • Experience with applying automated planning and scheduling algorithms (e.g. robot path planning, task allocation) or other optimisation techniques to practical problems
  • Knowledgeable of OO principles and techniques
  • Proven skills of software development 
  • Experience in Agile development methods
  • Competence in F# or another functional programming language
  • Good communication skills in English
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
