Associate Drafting Specialist – Research & Development

Work Flexibility: Hybrid (role allows working from an alternate workplace and a Stryker facility as needed). Travel:
None.

• Create and update 2D engineering drawings and 3D models in Solid Works in accordance with ASME Y14.5 standards and internal guidelines.
• Coordinate with design engineers to detail components and assemblies, resolving design issues and ensuring accuracy of design intent.
• Review engineering drawings to confirm completeness, compliance with standards, and readiness for release within defined timelines.
• Transfer legacy CAD files and drawings from PLM systems into Solid Works PDM, updating formats to current standards and maintaining data integrity.
• Operate and maintain in-house tools including 3D printers and 3D scanners to support prototyping and design validation activities.
• Build and test simple fixtures and assemblies to support engineering projects and verify design functionality.
• Maintain and update CAD templates, drawing standards, and best practices in alignment with internal and industry requirements.
• Prioritize assigned work and communicate task status, timelines, and updates to project stakeholders.

• High School Diploma plus 5+ years relevant work experience or associate degree plus 2+ years relevant work experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using 3D CAD software in a professional setting.
• Understanding of drafting standards and dimensioning practices.

• Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
• Previous experience in CAD modeling, assembly creation, drawing development, and product data management using Solid Works.
• Associate’s degree or higher in Drafting, CAD Technology, or a related discipline.
• Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing Professional (GDTP) certification.
• Solid Works Professional (CSWP) or Solid Works Expert (CSWE) certification.

Hourly Rate: $31.92 - $44.88 USD. Travel:
None.
