Quality Assurance Specialist (Part-time Contract)

Kake is looking for a Manual QA Specialist to ensure the quality and reliability of our web and mobile applications. This role is ideal for someone with a keen eye for detail, a passion for user experience, and the ability to think like an end‑user to identify edge cases before they reach production. You’ll work closely with developers and product managers to execute comprehensive test plans, document defects, and advocate for high‑quality standards across our software development lifecycle.

• Perform thorough manual functional, regression, and smoke testing for new and existing features.
• Identify, document, and track software defects using tools like Jira or Linear, ensuring clear steps to reproduce.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to understand requirements and define clear acceptance criteria.
• Design and maintain detailed test cases and checklists based on technical specifications and user stories.
• Participate in sprint planning and grooming sessions to provide a QA perspective on feasibility and potential risks.

• 5+ years of experience in manual software testing for web or mobile applications.
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify complex edge cases and usability issues.
• Proficiency in bug tracking and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, or Asana).
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical issues to non‑technical stakeholders.

• Familiarity with test‑management tools like Test Rail or Zephyr.
• Basic understanding of SQL for data verification and backend testing.
• Exposure to automated testing concepts or a desire to transition into automation in the future.
• Experience with accessibility testing (WCAG standards) or security testing basics.
